Mount Rainier National Park is accepting applications for Teacher-Ranger-Teacher opportunities this summer. The program provides opportunities for selected teachers to spend the summer working as a park ranger.
Teacher-Ranger-Teachers perform various duties depending on their interests and the needs of the park, including developing curriculum-based materials, presenting interpretive programs for the public, staffing the visitor centers, helping to lead teacher workshops or taking on special projects.
Interpretation teachers will work in the park’s interpretive operations, conducting programs such as guided walks, Junior Ranger programs, evening programs and other programs to help park visitors learn more about national parks. Education program participants will work with on the Mount Rainier-Mount Fuji Sister Mountain Project.
The application deadline is Feb. 18. For more information, contact Fawn Bauer at 360-569-6037 or fawn_bauer (at) nps.gov.
